If you're one of the players in PES/eFootball there who have migrated over to FIFA and are now playing FIFA, you're welcome FUT 23 Coins. I know it's been rough waiting for "Friends Mode" to allow us to at least play with best friends, but this game is as close to PES dribbling as you're likely to get . Enjoy it before you hear the "it's not a responsive crowd" is a cry and EA starts patching the game. On the ball, I can left-stick to get out of the way, I can shield off defenders and turn them, and my basic dribbling skills have all been improved since last year.
I'm a big fan of the way that the game feels when you have the ball. I'm also looking for games that replicate the different player characteristics. Tanks that resemble Yaya Toure are going to be different from a younger Neymar. Most players will fall in between as these two cases represent extremes. the sense of being heavy with enough strength and control to take on uphills with a quick click of the left stick is one reason I absolutely loved PES and am thoroughly enjoying the dribbling in FIFA 23.
I've never been a skilled guy, and even in real life I prefer the low center of gravity dribblers like Messi and Hazard and not step-over traders like Antony as well as Saint Maximin. Technical dribbling helps players like me bridge the gap in their skills online while developing it offline.
One of the major changes to FIFA 23 is the new Accelerate feature. A lot of the slow behavior folks complain about is due to ratings as well as a lack of understanding of this feature. For reference, here's a image from a prior EA blog detailing the three different archetypes for players:
